Hi there, just saw your post. you're right, i'll sure need luck to make it work, just like digg or reddit needed luck to make us change the way we read news. Well, I hope to do the same and change the way you pick a place to go to. I'll need all the luck I can get!

just fyi, as I mentioned in the presentation, the project's name isn't "maibun", the reason we chose this codename was because I had several options and still needed to pick the best of them. (<a href="http://alexbrie.net/myblog/blog/projects/1762/proiectul-netstartup-are-un-nume/ " rel="nofollow">http://alexbrie.net/myblog/blog/projects/1762/proiectul-netstartup-are-un-nume/</a>) gives a hint of the name we picked eventually

No, not me, you would've had to kill my blog. :)

On what regards the hobby-jobby thingie, I disagree. I'm more of a "keep-the-daily-job-that-pays-the-bills-and-hold-on-to-your-hobby-in-the-spare-time" kind of person. It's the same thing Hugh MacLeod says in his book, How to be creative. By turning the hobby into a jobby, there's a tension that appears, a pressure to make things better and payable and in the end this is bound to kill all the fun in that hobby.

And in the end, aren't we all bloggers? Isn't that a bit irrelevant when it comes to professional issues? Is making money out of your blog a criterion that allows you to put it on your business card? In the end, this is my main surprise. Some of the dudes in the blogosphere take themselves and their personal virtual spaces a *leeetle* too serious as to attest they're bl-ohh-ggers.

Have fun around the world, Bobby-Hobby. Be sure to send pictures. Looking forward for your "Restless explorer of the world" business card. ;)

You're lucky I am not the double-OH-seven of the blogosphere. Or else, after writing this comment I would have had to kill you, right? :)

Fact is I have different business cards for different occasions. Since I was invited there as a blogger, this is what I assumed would be the best way to present myself.

On the other hand, on one of my cards it says "Radio Show Producer", on other it says "Search Engine and Social Media Marketer". None of them would have really made any sense (ok, maybe the radio one, but it's on the other side of the blogger one, so it doesn't matter :D ).

And one more thing: I hope that you will have the chance, in your life, to make your hobby your job. Nothing is more fulfilling than that. Think about it: you do the thing you enjoy most and, more!!!! you get paid for that! Isn't it ironic? :) More, my hobby allows me to work from anywhere in the world. And, as a consequence, I am leaving around the world for two years starting with August 2008. Isn't that a vicious life? :)

Well, Bob, I guess we all have to get our kicks from somewhere. You chose to do so by being the double-o-seven of the new media / online fab life. "I'm agent Bobby and I have come to save your blog."

I find it terribly amusing that some people get their hobbies so seriously as to make a job out of them. Plus, this whole blogging thing seems so frivolous and fickle that I *might* have giggled a bit when seeing that you chose that particular occupation as your main definitory activity.

Hope I didn't offend you, have fun in the vicious wildlife of blogging. :)
